YAIDER, Thomas A.
RIDGELEY, W.Va. — Thomas A. Yaider, 59, of Ridgeley, W.Va., went to be with the Lord after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully in his sleep, Monday, June 14, 2010, at his residence with his wife and family by his side. He was a devoted, loving husband and father to his girls. Born Jan. 31, 1951, in Peterstown, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Carl and Lula E. (Hose) Yaider. Tom was a former employee at Mako Guardrail, G.Lite Electric, Thorton Communications, Tele Tech Company, Inc. and Goodwill Industries. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on his heavy equipment. He also enjoyed time with his family and friends. He loved to tell a good story and he had plenty of them. Surviving are his wife, Judith (Wilson) Yaider; two daughters, Stephanie Yaider, of Oldtown, and Teffany Bridges, of Cumberland; two sisters, Laura Walters and husband Gary, of Oldtown, and Janet Yaider, of Fort Ashby; one brother, William Carl “Sonny” Yaider and wife Judy, of Fort Ashby; close buddies, Greg High, Ralph Brady, Jim Norris, Ed Elva, Junior Yaider and Jerry Yaider, Amy Callis, and Jeri Yaider; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carolyn Wilson officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the services from 10 to 11 a.m. The family wishes to thank the Western Maryland Hospice Home Care, for all their help and care, and the Department of Juvenile Services for allowing Judith to spend time with her husband.
